God-given Power to Create Wealth - The Preconditions

Deuteronomy, the second edition of the law (as some Greek interpreters call it). I choose to refer to it as "the law repeated." Simply because there is nothing 'new' added to it in terms of the precepts we are to live under but rather an explaining of those precepts. Moreso, drawing close attention to Chapter 8 of this great and last book of Moses, he is without  a doubt sternly impressing upon them a vital and most necessary clause/article, of the Preconditional Agreement that the Children of  Israel were to adhere to before taking possession of the land of Canaan; Moses must read the articles of agreement to them, that they might know upon what terms and conditions they were to hold and enjoy that land, and might understand that they were upon their good behavior in it.

Here we already understand the pilgrimage of the Israelite's out of Egypt into and through a wilderness experience that left pressing and terrible impressions upon them. Now at the brink of their struggles that lead directly into the promised Canaan, the agreement is being restated. The conditions that they were subject to in no wise exempted us from the same.

Many of us started out some time ago following the course of our various destinies not fully understanding the circumstances and events that would play out along the way. For some, all we know is we had an unquenchable thirst to follow the voice we heard calling. Still others saw visions of the futures they were to possess and even  for others it was foretold in the dreams which occurred during  a nights' sleep. Some of us were brave enough to start out on the path to promise only to walk into a wilderness (recession).

We had to bear down against the breakers that slammed against us, some had to bury loved ones along the way (both naturally and spiritually), even others had to leave all behind and continue moving in blind faith - drawing closer to the Voice that called and beckoned us to come up, even closer. Some even fainted along the way and had to be either carried or left behind. Others gave up the pursuit and settled in places less than the promise. Being mindful that the promise is that you would have your 'own' and not a portion of someone else's.

Now here we are standing on the cusp of our promise readying ourselves to move into position to take it and the preconditions to remaining in the promises of God and the wealth that He alone will bestow upon us is first sand foremost (1) Wearing the ornament of success - humility. Humility is both the outward and inward show that we understand and acknowledge that God alone gave the power for us to attain and/or amass great wealth. As we move up in stature, and riches obtaining abundance, we are to never look upon our own strength, our own knowledge and knowledge of industry to self -proclaim our financial successes. Indeed this would be most harmful and a 'slap' in the face of our Great God who entrusted us with His grace, goodness, and provisions to live above poverty only to ignore Him; disregarding Him in our hearts and our actions.

(2) Refraining from greed was and still is a precondition that must always remain in the cog of this agreement. It is innately built into the design of humility and prosperity's framework. Greed is not humble. Greed is pushy, selfish, mean,  a terror, over indulgent, slaughtering, and most wasteful. Greed is an enemy to longevity. If you use it all up now, what have you left for future uses? Greed is an abortionist. It kills the very future of the people we are to protect.

(3) Exercising exclusivity in fellowship and collaboration. You notice that in this eighth chapter of Deuteronomy Moses really impressed upon the Children of Israel that, "They must not have any fellowship with those that, when they had eaten and were full, blessed false gods, as the Israelites themselves had done in their worship of the golden calf, Ex. 32:6." It is wrong for us as the people of God to create, build, develop, expand and network with others in building the vision(s) that God himself have given only to partner with those who self-proclaim that it was their degrees, their vast knowledge of languages & cultures, their political power and their selfish ideals that got us where we are.

We are to never take praise and glory away from the Lord our God. All the glory, all the honor and all praise will forever remain His. If we are to remain in the promises of His graciousness - we'd better find ourselves continually giving thanks and offering the sacrifices of praise upon His altars. We are to never look at our competencies being suggestive that it was we who made it happen. For we already understand that He provided wisdom....that didn't come from us. How then shall we boast?

Therefore our dealings with others must be exclusive to following the law of God. Our collaborations with others cannot take us off course causing generational cursings, and misgivings, and malcontent. In other words, we cannot shake hands with the devil and call it God. Your enemy being your footstool is not being in partnership with your enemy!

(3) "In all things giving thanks...." Moses instructed the Israelites to be thankful for the fruit and the land that bared the fruit. Be thankful for the fruit of the vine, for the calves, goats, and sheep; meat. Be thankful for the promise. You know it's funny how we hear these same messages (some of us even preach these) and yet it has to be repetitious (Deuteronomy) in that the Ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ make laudable the greater significances of God's truths. As Matthew Henry framed it best, "The great and needful truths of the gospel should be often pressed upon people by the ministers of Christ. To write the same things (says Paul, Phil. 3:1) to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe. What God has spoken once we have need to hear twice, to hear many times, and it is well if, after all, it be duly perceived and regarded."

(4) Last but not in the slightest, the warnings that are deeply ingrained in the preconditions of promise. Disobedience, disrespect, disregard, unfaithfulness, unrighteousness will get you expelled from promise. Breaking rank, contention and strivings against thy brother or your leader(s), hatred, ill-regard for the law of God will get you pink slipped, devoid of investment, dropped, scaled back, handcuffed, and sentencing awaits those that refuse to adhere to the commandments of God. If He ain't playing -why would you?

In closing, if we have come over hills and mountains, through treacherous storms that at some time or another caused us een to question God's sovereignty, drought and heat, pressing and striving for the great promise God has for each of us, that which was sworn to our fathers and mothers that He would perform for us...why miss it when this is what He wants to confirm in us and through us!

Certainly He has rebuked the devour for our sakes. Yes, He has blessed us and our seed to prosper in the way. But this covenant began before us and God wants to fulfill it with us - therefore its time to put pen to paper. It's time to sign the Precondition Agreement and move into the promise. He that made the promise is not short to fulfill it.
