The End of Self

It's something about being enlightened (revelation = a truth revealed imparted or disclosed) in that its occurrence never allows that individual once again live outside of that 'truth.'God's revealed truth came and continues to occur to those who continually seeks Him for guidance, purpose, prosperity, but more importantly, for development.

It is not until an individual begins to search him or herself for the right answers by asking the right questions that truth can be revealed. It's not until you come to the end of your self that you begin the quest to obtain the  right answers for going forward. Examples of the right questions always begin with: What did YOU intend? Lord, what are you requiring from me? What was I supposed to do and did not obey you? What are you saying to me now?

Notice that none of the questions above lead to any implications to the impossible. None of the questions begin with how? Implying that what's being asked first of all cannot be accomplished. None of the questions begin with who? Implying that someone has to come in order for me to obey Your command. What we have already is the equipment to perform and complete assignments based on what He has already spoken. The problem is - we just don't see it His way. What soon will follow this ineptness in us to walk in truth of God is a 'scurrying' to "look and act" as if we are. Oh we take on projects, we join committees, we join causes that we can't afford to donate to, we attempt to reinvent ourselves as being something that we clearly are not, and then the worst happens....it all runs out!!!

What happens now that you're at your end of self? what happens now that you're left all alone? What happens now that you're all alone? What happens now that the money is funny and the change is strange? What happens now that the music and fanfare has stopped? What happens now........

What happens now is you find yourself at a very empty place - an entirely desolate and strange place. A place of nowhere (dry bones). A place marked by others as your place of madness. A place that doesn't provide an exit except God provision it. And guess what - He will not provision without you returning to the vision. He will never provide the "road out" unless you come back to the "what" of it. God! What did you say??? God is never afraid to tell you a second time and sometimes a third...(and a fourth for those who "just don't get it" but have a heart to grow with understanding),what He commands. We just don't ask. We often times get caught up on entitlement-type thinking. More often than not, we begin to think that we are entitled to God's richness, favor, honor and all the other. Wow, did we miss it!

This thinking is found to be rooted in those that were born in republics whose foundations were based on democracy and democratic ideals. We are entitled to this and we are entitled to that and before you know it, we entreat God and God's principles to our own mandated self-assessments. In other words, I am entitled so I chose whether or not I want to obey, or carry out this assignment as it was presupposed. We get in our own ways because we fail to understand that Sovereign rules His kingdom and His word is final. There are no entitlements people...there are only rewards for obeying: "If you be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the lamb (Isaiah 1:19)!" Does that sound like entitlement?!!

Conclusively, when we come to the end of self, we recognize that our attitude thus driving our thinking was "wrong" and that thwarted us on a road to nowhere. But in God's attempt to reach us and bring us back in alignment as to what He has said, in our discovery we find truth revealed which then shines light on the dark places of our minds; our souls. We find the Truth of God continually revealing to those whose hearts are ready to receive the paths that lead to destiny through obedience.

"Lord let your Truth be revealed."
