Perceived Blessings Oftentimes Must Wait

Two years ago August I was directed by the Holy Spirit to a home in a prestigious housing development that sits on 3+ acres of beautiful natural terrain with sculpted scenic mountains in the backdrop and a fabulous backyard. Although this house was not newly built it was definitely newly remodeled in that the homeowner was also the home-builder of whom added another master suite expanding the  square footage to more than 10K square feet of living space with all the amenities one could ask. This house was ideal for anyone looking to own a healthy-hefty investment.

Now here’s where things get pretty dynamic. This was not the first time I had seen this house. Actually, this house had been seen 3 or 4 years in a prior Luxury Home Magazine issue but had disappeared making potential buyers assume the property had sold. But what actually happened the owner-home-builder took the house off market for remodeling (added another master suite downstairs…yes! It has two master suites). When the home was presented to me early one morning while visiting with a friend during a time of temporary displacement – I was overcome by the Spirit of God and put into a deep sleep. After awakening the book was still lying on my chest and I looked back down at the house on the page and I heard the Spirit speak to me saying, “Get in contact with the listing agent to make an appointment to go view that home.”

I didn’t immediately obey the command given. In fact, a week or two lapsed before I got a strong and clear rebuke from the Spirit saying, “You were told to call the listing agent regarding that home.” Immediately I hopped online, found the listing agent for that property, called, emailed, and did everything required to get on my assignment!

The morning my colleague and I set out to view this particular property my spirit was sorely perplexed. I just couldn’t understand why this house was so important. Of all the magnificent properties I had seen and truly desired – why this house? Again, the Spirit spoke to me saying, “You are a woman of purpose. You understand best when you know the purpose for your actions as well as other matters. Ask the house what its purpose is!”

As we traveled across the highway my colleague stated, “Evangelist Coleman, I know you’re excited about your house”. I couldn’t show any excitement or otherwise because I was deeply and busily trying to action something I’d never heard of let alone exercise  – “Ask the house….”  Who does that??? However, inwardly, I was asking. What are you for? Who are you for? Why were you built? What purpose do you or will you serve? Really? Am I nuts?

I decided to contact the realtor to confirm our arrival time. He promised to meet us at the gate in order to follow him into the community and onto the property.  As the realtor approached my colleagues vehicle he extended his hand and introduced himself. My colleague introduced herself and he immediately came around the vehicle to greet and introduce himself. But what he actually did was deliver a message: He opened his mouth and stated: Hello Kimetta, I’m Mike and this house is for MINISTRY!!!

I almost passed completely out!

This man had no way of knowing what I had been seeking and asking and pondering and killing myself with for the past 2 weeks. He had no knowledge of me or of my background. He had no foreknowledge  I were a minister….what was happening here?!!

It was the divine work of God and the path that He calls us to walk in blind faith for His purpose. At the time I went to view this property it was listed at $3.2M; the owner only considering bids at a base price of $2.89M, neither of which I had. What I heard in my spirit to offer was $2.7M. I didn’t have that. But I obeyed. After our discussion, another amazing thing happened. The realtor looked at me, stretched his hand towards and began to  pray for me!!!This solidified this trip was God ordained and I had moved in obedience.

Two years later while getting into bed for the night, I felt compelled to open my new laptop/tablet and scan the Luxury Home Magazine digital issue and what jumps out – this same home now listed at $2.75M.  I closed the laptop. I reached up to cut off the light and said, “Dad, I ain’t fooling with you tonight!"

The next morning I awakened fully knowing the task at hand – getting in position to own that property for God’s purpose. I contacted the colleague who had begun this walk with me. We immediately went into a “strategy session with God” for acquiring the promise.

Many times when God reveals where He is leading His children or that He has promised something, it takes time for others who may be in possession of our blessing to release it or get out of the way in order to take possession. Oftentimes, our perceived blessings must wait for us to get into position for God’s purpose(s) to be executed through those He designates.

Moral of the story: Just because its delayed – does not mean its denied. Get into position.

Blessings From Yahweh,

Pastor Kimetta
